NCFPD is working to build the educational pipeline—from early education to late career—to supply the food system with a cohort of food defenders who are equipped with the skills needed to address the grand challenges of food system protection. Aligned with our education mission of increasing awareness of food defense globally, enhancing the skill set of our current workforce, and training the next generation of food defense workers, the education team is taking a 4-fold approach to ensure effective and engaging curriculum that aligns with the educational needs of today.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Summer Research Team (SRT) Program for Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) is open to all full-time faculty teaching in a HS-STEM discipline related to a DHS Research Area at a MSI with plans to continue research at that same MSI during the 2015-2016 academic school year.
