In collaboration with the Skoll Global Threats Fund (SGTF), FPDI facilitated a workshop on novel infectious disease surveillance systems last month in Boston, MA. As part of the workshop, FPDI graduate research assistants, Emily Smith and Jackie Logan, presented the results of data analyses they had begun in January. The work performed by Emily and Jackie will improve how data is collected from health professionals around the world to support rapid detection and verification of disease outbreaks around the world. Emily and Jackie are both pursuing their Master’s in Public Health from the University of Minnesota and have been part of the FPDI team since mid-2016.
