FPDI Detection Method Assessment Tool for Chemical, Biological, and Radiological Agents

Friday, June 3, 2016 AT 10:00AM-11:00AM CT / 11:00AM-12:00PM ET

Food is a particularly vulnerable target to adulteration due to its broad and complex distribution system. Numerous detection methods exist to measure the presence of chemical, biological, and radiological agents in food and the field is ever-changing. The Food Protection and Defense Institute (FPDI) has developed a tool to assess detection methods based on the agent type, intended usage, and twenty-three performance attributes. This webinar will include:

  • An overview of the FPDI agent’s database and methods assessment tool
  • Review of the performance criteria and importance rankings
  • Discussion on how the tool can be used to identify research gaps, review current methods, and guide development of future methods
