The NCFPD Policy Summit will convene decision makers and subject matter experts from key stakeholder organizations in the food, agriculture, and homeland security sectors to identify and define critical policy issues for protecting the food system and create action plans for addressing them. As a third-party organization working across all sectors, NCFPD is uniquely qualified to provide a neutral forum where stakeholders from industry-including critical infrastructure owners and operators-federal and state government agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and academia can meet as equals. NCFPD can leverage its productive relationships with each sector to build bridges between them, ensure a collaborative and effective meeting environment, and obtain the full collective wisdom of the participants. The Summit will be designed to address the policy aspects of strategic issues vital to food defense and homeland security. They will define the issue, determine the needs and barriers, identify collaboration opportunities, and develop next steps to achieving potential solutions. Summit topic will be determined in consultation with DHS.
