Terms & Conditions: Food Defense Readiness Assessment
The Food Defense Readiness Assessment (FDRA 2.0) is a FSMA self-assessment tool developed and maintained by the Regents of the University of Minnesota on behalf of its Food Protection and Defense Institute (FPDI), a Department of Homeland Security S&T Center of Excellence, and is available for purchase from FPDI’s website and resides on the protected web portal www.FoodSHIELD.org.
FDRA 2.0 is intended to assist food facilities in understanding, assessing level of readiness, and implementing mitigation strategies described in the Intentional Adulteration and EMA provisions of the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and its subsequent final rules. Readiness scores generated from the assessment are not intended to determine FSMA regulatory compliance. The content of the assessment and report references do not represent the opinions or regulatory authority of the FDA or U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Access Requirements and Limitations
- The tool has been designed to assess readiness of an individual facility. Businesses comprised of multiple facilities should purchase and complete an individual assessment for each facility at the cost $99.95 per facility. This fee is non-refundable. For companies with more than three facilities, please contact the FDRA coordinator for the facilities package discount.
- The personal FDRA 2.0 readiness report is available at the time of submission as a one-time-only download or as an email attachment.
- Included in the purchase price is an optional 30-minute follow-up telephone conversation with a FPDI staff expert to discuss assessment results. The call is available upon request for up to 90 days from date of FDRA 2.0 purchase.
- The survey may not be shared, reproduced or disseminated without the expressed written permission of FPDI.
Information entered by a facility will be available to the individual user and FoodSHIELD system administrator only. If the user schedules a follow-up telephone discussion with FPDI staff, the user may give FPDI permission to access the individual’s readiness report for discussion purposes only. In addition, FPDI reserves the right to access de-identified FDRA facility data for research purposes and/or for the development of educational programs for food system professionals. All oral or published summaries of research findings will be presented in such a way as to protect the anonymity of participating facilities.
